2. "Greg Minah: Painting | Method" Video
I shot and produced this short video so that the viewer might have a fuller experience of my paintings and all that goes into their creation. The process of making these paintings is just as important to me as the finished works. Every step in the process is a chance for me to learn something new about how the paint behaves and each finished painting is the result of these steps working together over time.
3. Art in Embassies Program Selected by curator Claire D'Alba to have two paintings exhibited at the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala City, Guatemala as part of the Art in Embassies program.
Established in 1963, the U.S. Department of States office of Art in Embassies (AIE) plays a vital role in our nations public diplomacy through a culturally expansive mission, creating temporary exhibitions and permanent collections, artist and cultural exchange programming, and publications.
The exhibition is scheduled to last for approximately three years.
4. Crystal City Art Wall Installation
Selected by the Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID) to have 10 of my recent paintings reproduced at high quality on 10' by 10' aluminum panels and installed in downtown Crystal City on an ongoing basis as part of the Art Walls project.
Installation address:
2221 South Eads Street Arlington, VA 22202
5. "Greg Minah: Painting | Process" Video
This video highlights the process of painting without brushes that I have developed over the last few years. A camera mount was constructed and attached to the stretcher frame so that as the canvas was manipulated to control the flow of the paint, the camera moved along with it. While many of the early layers are eventually hidden from view, they remain integral to the overall process since each step is a response to what came before.
A larger version of the video can be found in the "Video" section of this website.

September 11, 2009 Reviewed by Art Critic, Michael O'Sullivan inThe Washington Post:
"...Baltimore's Greg Minah is truly talented. His two paintings on view -- in which the artist "draws" by tilting the canvas while still-wet paint trickles this way and that -- infuse the legacy of the Washington Color School with a vigorous, Jackson Pollock-y energy." ________________________________________
September 9, 2009 Reviewed by Art Critic, Kevin Mellema in theFalls Church News Press:
"Of additional note, finalist Greg Minah has two of his abstract drip paintings on view here as well, made by tilting the canvas back and forth as small rivulets of paint flow across the canvas. The works might be best referred to as gravity paintings, producing a network of lines reminiscent of a city street map. The most interesting sections are areas that Minah has rubbed out after the edges of paint flow dried, while the center remained wet, leaving two tracking lines fading towards a blank center strip between them." ________________________________________
